Neighborhood Safety

Been trying to think of ways to make our neighborhood safer and I'd like
to share a though I had and see what others think. If each of us had a
tag or bumper sticker that identified each vehicle we drove as
"belonging" in the neighborhood., then we could more easily identify
tell who should be parked here. We'd have to have guest tags too.
Would like to get opinions pro and con and other ideas too.

Judy, thanks for the thought starters! Hmmm, interesting idea - vehicle ID tags. To make it work we would have to have "spotters" working the driveways and streets every day - every hour. Otherwise if no one is on the streets looking for un-marked vehicles it wouldn't make much difference whether they all had a tag or not. But let's flesh this idea out and see if anyone can add to it!

Judy, you have us thinking about neighborhood safety, and perhaps others have ideas and suggestions, too! Let's hear from more of you on this most important subject!

Thanks for responding Nate. Everyday, every hour IS impractical. But what about the unsystematic intermittent observations of exercisers, dog walkers, and cruising police? I wonder if the police would like this and would run plate numbers if a vehicle did not have a tag? Like you, I hope this topic gets extended and there are other ideas.
