The Fourth Is around the corner

With the 4th of July approaching and lots of Fire Works stands popping up in the county, I thought you might want to see the first part of the Fireworks Ordinance North Little Rock adopted in September of 1998.
Except as hereinafter provided, it shall be unlawful for any person to
possess, store, offer for sale, sell at retail, set off, ignite or otherwise
explode any firecrackers or other fireworks by whatever name called
within the city limits; provided that the use of fireworks for public
displays shall be allowed upon recommendation by the fire marshal
and authorization of the City Council, only after all of the provisions
of NFiPa 1123 are met and all necessary permits have been issued.
Every such use or display shall be handled by a competent operator
approved by the fire marshal and shall be of such character and so
located, discharged or fired so as not to be hazardous to property or
endanger any person. The fine or penalty for violating this provision,
upon conviction in mlmicipal court, shall be not less than twenty-five
and 00/100 dollars ($25.00) nor more than five hundred and 00/100
dollars ($500.00).

Remember, fines up to $500.00 can be assessed!
So be careful and be safe this year.

Webster's New World Dictionary offers the following definition of the word 'patriot': "one who loves and zealously supports his/her country". Now with the 4th of July Holiday just around the corner we should all be moved to demonstrate our patriotism!

May I suggest that in place of purchasing bottle rockets and firecrackers we give up our monies for the 'Stars & Stripes'! If you don't have one, please run (and I do mean run) down to your favorite store while quanities last and buy an American Flag & pole kit to display from your home or yard this coming holiday weekend. Please remember we are indeed now at war and yes, our fellow Americans are dying and being wounded in foreign lands to perserve our quality of life here at home, which is anchored in freedoms earned through blood, sweat & tears, past & present!

In place of obtaining an instant bang for your eyes and ears try a lasting one for and from your heart. Let's see how many American Flags we can proudly fly in our NLAN neighborhood this 4th and beyond. Go for the true 'bang'
by showing our red, white and blue colors. I believe it's the best and safest way to celebrate our country's history as well as today's sacrifices being made by our men & women 'over there'.

Please consider being a silent but visual true patriot this 4th by zealously with love supporting our counry in flying America's grand and beautiful flag for all to see!
